Team Member Spotlight: Eric Vogt

Eric Vogt

Eric Vogt, CFP, is a Senior Wealth Strategist who works with corporate executives, highly compensated professionals, and inheritors of wealth to identify and assess personal and financial goals, leading to the development of customized planning strategies.

Each member of the diversely talented team at Waldron leverages his or her unique skillset and experience to help our clients solve their immediate challenges and achieve their long-term goals.

This month, we turn the Spotlight on Eric Vogt, who is also a key member of Waldron’s NextGen service offering, providing education and counsel for families transitioning wealth to the next generation. He currently sits on the board of the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh.

Eric and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy, to their family 2 months ago! Therefore, outside of work, a lot of his time is spent getting caught up to speed on parenting and raising a child.

Let’s learn more about Eric and what makes him a great asset to our Waldron family.

Why did you join the Waldron Family?

I was given the opportunity to work with interesting and very successful families where I could truly be involved in every aspect of their financial lives.  Because of our limited number of clients per advisor, you really have time to get to know each family you work with.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Focus on the areas of life you can control, and don’t worry about the areas you cannot.

What drives you to be successful?

Seeing the positive impact that I have on my clients and their families. Also, helping other colleagues grow in their careers.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Figuring out broad goals is more important than specific ones.  If you aren’t working toward the right goal, you are spending a lot of time spinning your tires.

Of Waldron’s 4 Pillars, which one resonates with you the most and why?

We Are All Entrepreneurs.  I was an entrepreneurship minor in college and always loved building things.  This business is constantly evolving with new legislation being passed, so it is important to continue to build and restructure things so that we are servicing our clients as efficiently as possible.

What is your favorite memory since working at Waldron?

I’ve been here for a long time, so it is hard to pick just one. Sunshine Fridays in the summer were always a fun way to get together with my colleagues outside of the usual work setting.
