Each member of the Waldron team uses his or her own specific areas of expertise to help our clients achieve what’s important in their lives.
Our team members are what make our firm so unique, and in an effort to help you get to know our team a little better from a professional and personal standpoint, we’re publishing a series of Team Member Spotlights.
This quarter, our Spotlight features Mark Moretti, CFP®, Manager – Wealth Planning. Mark is an integral part of the Wealth Planning team, guiding the creation and coordinated implementation of estate planning, risk management, and tax planning services to support our clients’ evolving needs. He also manages the development and consistent execution of key deliverables to enhance our client experience. Before joining Waldron in 2010, he worked at KPMG in Internal Audit and Risk Compliance Services.
Why did you join Waldron? Even at a young age, I had an interest in the financial industry. In middle school, I used to research publicly traded companies and trading using my dad’s investment account. After college, I worked in internal audit at KPMG, and learned that there is much more to financial planning than just investments. I realized that I wanted to align my career with a firm that focused on the entire financial picture, and Waldron was the perfect match.
What is the best advice you have ever received? “The limit to what you can accomplish in life is the point when YOU decide to give up. Never give up!” – My Dad.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be? I think Elon Musk would be a very interesting person to have dinner with. He is such a visionary, I would love to pick his brain about his current and future entrepreneurial ideas.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? When I was younger, I used to compete in archery competitions. At age 12, I was #1 in Southwestern Pennsylvania is #3 in the state.
What is the next item you plan to knock off your bucket list? Scuba diving has been a passion of mine since I was in college. I have done some great dives in the Cayman Islands, but the pinnacle, bucket list dive that I want to make is the Great Barrier Reef.
