Team Member Spotlight: Ali Swart, CFP®

Ali Postlewaite

Each member of the diversely talented team at Waldron leverages his or her unique skillset and experience to help our clients solve their immediate challenges and achieve their long-term goals.

Our team members are what make our firm so unique, so to help you get to know us a little better, from a professional and personal standpoint, we’re publishing a series of Team Member Spotlights.

This quarter, we turn the Spotlight on Ali Swart. Ali is a team leader in our wealth planning group, and a key advisor for our clients, for whom she develops and implements comprehensive, goal-based wealth planning strategies, integrating income tax planning, estate planning, investment management, cash flow analysis, corporate benefit analysis, charitable planning and risk management.

Why did you join Waldron? I wanted to be a part of a growing organization that holds client relationships and service above all else. I love the ability to work very closely with clients, so Waldron’s commitment to maintaining a 5:1 client to staff ratio really reflected my values. The onsite gym in the office was cool too.

What is the best advice you have ever received? My grandpa once told me that “Adversity breeds character.” We are always going to be faced with challenges in our lives, whether it be at work, in relationships or with our children. I always try to use these challenges to learn and grow.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be? Kit Harington (Jon Snow) from Game of Thrones. I love the show and he’s definitely my top celebrity crush.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I, along with my family, raced motocross competitively; I raced for 8 years as a kid. My dad, two uncles, grandpa and I all raced. The only reason I stopped was because I broke my wrist at a Loretta Lynn National qualifier when I was in junior high. This ruined my racing season along with my basketball season that year. Luckily, I also had aspirations of playing college basketball, so I focused on that after the accident.

What is the next item you plan to knock off your bucket list?Traveling as a family. Our son will be two this summer, and we find immense joy watching him learn and explore new places. We would love to go to Arizona for the outdoors experience and we have a beach trip planned for July. When our son is older and can remember more, we plan on taking a Disney vacation and making an overseas trip. My husband loves golfing so some place like Ireland is on the wish list
